Black Culture in Chicago is a photography project created to counter misconceptions by presenting images and narratives that reveal the intrinsic value and diversity of Chicago’s Black culture. The images presented on this website are taken from the larger, collective project which will include a world-class exhibit and a companion hardcover book.

Chicago’s Judge Stanley Hill says of Black Culture in Chicago, “From each of the images, I experience the goodness of God looking straight into my heart and saying, 'I am here. Follow me.' God is seen in their smiles. The images are touching, gratifying, and filled with awe. They take you by surprise, and seeing each causes you to feel closer to God through people. Fabulous job.”
